'I was having this awful nightmare that I was 32. And then I woke up and I was 23. So relieved. And then I woke up for real, and I was 32.' - Celine, Before Sunset

Paranoia Induced Anxiety

You sleep at night wondering about the dawn to come
About things prepared for you by fate
You dream about journeys far off your usual path
And put them aside by the time you wake

I envy those whose dreams they make
Whose lives are as they have always wanted
I pity, nay, abhor my weak resolve
For it has led me nowhere far where I have started

I close my eyes to the day that has passed
And weigh my weary head to the comforts of recline
I wait for the darkness to accompany peace
And surrender to the chaos; to the thoughts in my mind

#010: 5 Things to do this Holiday Season!

1) Be a film critic for a day!

Don't let the fact that Narnia got bumped off its December release ruin your Chirstmas break. Have fun with family or close friends weeding the good and the bad out of the Metro Manila Film Festival! You'll sure get a kick out of some of the stunts and antics they pull off yearly just to get a film out for the running. Dramas become comedies and comedies become dramas (maiiyak ka sa panget!).

2) Try mixing drinks for the holidays!

This is fun. Turn drabby get-togethers into fabulous cocktail parties! Go to http://www.mixed-drink.com/or http://www.webtender.com/ and get started mixing basic alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Check out your local grocery store's wine selection. You'll be surprised on how blending some common and inexpensive spirits and spritzers could go a long way. Margaritas anyone?

3) Get that facial done!

Bleach, peel, prick, pop! Get it done early during vacation and you're perfect by the time you get back to the office 2 weeks after! You may even squeeze in that liposuction you've always wanted.

4) Redesign your Boudoir!

Is you room still stuck in the 80's? Maybe that's not so bad but molds and peeling paint sure are nasty. Take advantage of the holiday mall sale and amp up your space! A new paint job, curtains, sheets, carpet, lighting and a mini hi-fi system surely won't hurt. HGTV has some cool ideas to get you off the ground. http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/dc_room_design

5) Tell that secret crush you like him/her!

Do this just before you break for the holidays. If he/she says he/she likes you too, then you're golden! If he/she hesitates, you can tell him/her to think about it over the holidays. If he/she rejects you, well... at least you have 2 weeks to get over it. This is not a perfect plan but at least it will get things moving. Who knows? The holiday cheers may help you recieve a more thoughtful and merrier response. =)

Are you just being nice?

I find myself making something out of nothing.
Small meaningless acts play in my mind like whirlpools.
Passing words end up ringing in deep sleep.

Should I do something? Should I act?
Would I even get something back?
What if I falter? What if I'm wrong?
If rejection comes, will I be strong?

Are you just being nice?
I'm lost.
